The GLIMA LIVINGSTON chapter part of Automation Alley’s GLIMA Network was officially formed and received affiliation approval by Automation Alley in August 2006.

The mission of GLIMA LIVINGSTON, a Michigan non-profit corporation is to lend support and help to promote the growth of technology industries throughout Livingston and Washtenaw Counties. The goal is to establish a forum for technology and interactive professionals to share a common voice in technology initiatives and in the promoting of continued growth throughout the professional, business and educational communities.

The History of GLIMA
GLIMA was established in 1996 as one of the first Michigan associations to bring together people with an interest in the emerging technology industry. Managed by a small group of volunteer members, this budding organization grew at an amazing pace. Early in 2001, the group began the search for a partner that could help it expand, while maintaining its mission and integrity of the organization.

In October 2001, GLIMA formally merged with the Automation Alley Consortium. The two organizations share the same interest in developing Michigan's high-tech industry while retaining and attracting a quality workforce to meet industry needs. As of August 2006 there are eight GLIMA chapters that make up the network. These chapters are geographically defined throughout Michigan and the Great Lakes area.
